Central Contract Register
In Slovakia a contract with a public sector body only takes effect once it is published in the Central Contract Register. The register is therefore complete in a meaningful sense – a contract that is not in it is not in force – which makes it a reliable picture of how much a company actually earns from public money.

What it is used for
The share of revenue from public contracts matters in both directions when assessing credit: it means a reliable payer, but also dependence on a single type of customer.
When vetting a counterparty, a volume of public sector contracts indicates the company went through procurement and therefore met the statutory eligibility conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Why a summary rather than individual contracts?
Because count and value are what can actually be used in a decision or a score. The text of each contract is publicly available in the register and forwarding it would inflate the response without adding use.
Does this include contracts where the company is the customer?
We return contracts the company is party to according to the register. The register publishes on the side of the obliged public body, so these are normally supply contracts to the public sector.
