Approved food establishments (ŠVPS)
An establishment handling food of animal origin must be approved by the Slovak State Veterinary and Food Administration and hold an approval number. The register is public and splits into a food and a veterinary part.

What it is used for
If you buy food of animal origin, a supplier approval number is a requirement, not a recommendation. Without one the establishment may not operate.
We return match_confidence openly because the register carries no company ID and we match on name and address. Better to state the confidence than to pretend the match is exact.
Frequently asked questions
Why does each record carry a match confidence?
Because the source does not publish a company ID and we attribute establishments to companies by name and address. Hiding the fact that the match is an estimate would be misleading – so we return it as a number you can threshold on.
What is the difference between the food and veterinary registers?
They are two separate lists by type of activity. We return both and you tell them apart by register_type, because one company can hold establishments in both.
