Register of Legal Entities (RPO)
The RPO is the broadest record of Slovak entities. Unlike the Commercial Register it also covers sole traders, civic associations, foundations and public authorities, making it the only register in which you will find practically every valid Slovak company ID.
What the register contains
- Entity name including the history of previous names
- Registered address in structured form – street, city, postal code, district code
- Legal form and its numeric code
- Date of establishment and, where applicable, termination
- The source register the entity comes from (commercial, trade, other)
- Business activities including suspended and terminated ones

What it is used for
The RPO is the first call in every scenario where a user enters a company ID. It confirms the entity exists, returns the exact name and address for your form, and tells you whether the company still operates or has been dissolved.
Because it also covers sole traders, it is the only source that can power an autocomplete for the whole Slovak market. The Commercial Register alone would leave out hundreds of thousands of entities.
Frequently asked questions
Does the RPO include sole traders?
Yes. That is exactly what sets it apart from the Commercial Register. The RPO also records self-employed individuals, civic associations, foundations and public authorities.
Will I find shareholders and directors here?
No. The RPO holds neither ownership structure nor statutory bodies. Those live in the Commercial Register, and FirmAPI attaches them to the same company ID automatically.
What does a filled terminated_date mean?
The entity has been dissolved and struck from the register. We keep the record, because when checking older invoices and contracts you need to know the company existed at that time.
