Commercial Register (ORSR)
The Commercial Register holds the detail the RPO does not: who owns the company, who acts on its behalf, what its registered capital is and how its directors are authorised to act. It covers companies and cooperatives, not sole traders.
What the register contains
- Shareholders including contribution amount, amount paid up and percentage share
- Statutory body – names, roles, addresses and the dates offices began and ended
- The manner of acting on behalf of the company
- Registered capital and the extent to which it is paid up
- Business activities exactly as recorded in the register
- Section and insert number, that is the file reference, plus the competent court
- List of documents filed in the collection of deeds

What it is used for
When vetting a business partner this is the source that tells you who is behind the company. Shareholders and officers are the input to conflict-of-interest checks and to beneficial ownership screening.
When onboarding a client in a regulated environment, the statutory body is used to verify authority to sign. The acting_method field says whether a single director may act alone or several signatures are required.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some companies have no ORSR data?
Because they are not in the Commercial Register. Sole traders, civic associations and public authorities do not belong there – for those you have the RPO data.
Do you scrape orsr.sk?
No. We read the register's official interface. That means a more stable data structure and no dependence on an HTML layout that can change at any time.
Does the response include historical shareholders?
We return the current state of the entry. Historical ownership changes can be tracked through the company.updated webhook, which captures a change when it happens.
