Employer register
Slovak Social Insurance maintains a register of employers. For companies that do not file financial statements carrying an employee figure, it is the only public source from which company size in people can be estimated.
What the register contains
- Whether the company is registered as an employer
- Indicative headcount bracket
- Registration date and any deregistration date

What it is used for
A headcount bracket is more usable for segmentation than legal form. A company with dozens of employees is a different customer from a one-person company with the same NACE code.
A deregistration date is a warning sign: a company that stopped being an employer without being dissolved has either wound down or moved to another model.
Frequently asked questions
Why a bracket rather than an exact number?
Because the register publishes a bracket, not an exact figure. Inventing a precise value from a bracket would claim more than the source contains.
How does this relate to the Social Insurance debtor list?
They are two separate lists from the same institution. This one says the company employs people. The debtor list says it did not pay their contributions.
